Saint John’s Heart Center is a leader in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart disease. Our dedicated medical staff provides the expertise, skill and compassion needed for successful treatment and diagnosis, from performing one of the first world’s open heart surgeries to pioneering new techniques for treating atrial fibrillation to leading the way in non-invasive heart monitoring technology.
Saint John’s Health Center performs hundreds of interventions per year and offers the latest breakthroughs in the treatment of coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease. Our recently opened surgical suites and cath labs provide some of the most advanced technology on the West Coast, proving our cardiac experts' equipment advanced enough to match their medical expertise. The heart surgery program recently expanded with a partnership with UCLA.
Our cardiac team includes cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons, cardiologists, electrophysiologists, critical care nurse specialists and support staff. Our clinical nurse specialists are registered nurses (RNs) who have received advanced training and education in caring for cardiac patients. Our surgeons specialize in surgical techniques related to heart disease, including: coronary artery bypass graphs, valve repair and replacement, and aneurysm repair. In addition to testing, the Heart Program is on the cutting edge of cardiac care, offering treatment options that include minimally invasive surgical techniques and cardiovascular interventions, including cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, rotoblator angioplasty, and drug-eluting stent implantation.
