After getting a Bachelors of Science in Home Economics with an emphasis on Foods and Nutrition at California State University, Northridge, in 1977, Joan DeVito-Agins, RD, CDE, went through dietetic training at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank. She has been in private practice in Tarzana, Calif., since 1980 and is a Certified Diabetic Educator.

DeVito-Agins is a Registered Dietitian as well as a member of the American Dietetic Association and the American Diabetic Educators Association.

She enjoys giving individuals the ability to take control of their health and fitness levels and wants to make eating to improve patients' health both creative and manageable within their particular lifestyle demands.

DeVito-Agins has found that by working at Saint John's Health Center, she has been able to use her healing talent to improve the health of individuals and their families as well as provide educational programs for the entire community.

She is also a personal chef.
