Visual Field Testing:  It is an important tool used by ophthalmologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons to detect and monitor visual loss which may be caused by brain or pituitary tumors or other disease that effect the optic pathways such as multiple sclerosis or glaucoma. Specific types of visual field loss help localize where a tumor resides such as a bitemporal visual field loss that occurs with pressure on the optic chiasm.
