Should a newborn require extra medical attention because of a premature delivery or illness, the Irene Dunne Guild Level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint John's offers clinically advanced care in a warm, supportive environment. Neonataologists in the NICU work closely with the health center’s maternal-fetal specialists and pediatricians to ensure a complete continuum of care.
Equipped with the Latest in Technology, the Saint John's NICU provides babies with around-the-clock, special needs care from experienced neonatalogists, neonatal nurses and pediatric respiratory therapists.
Healing Environment
The 12-bed NICU is open and airy and has a flexible design so that the unit can be configured as necessary based on the number of patients. Additionally, because babies can be in the NICU for a long time, each bay is oversized so that parents have more room to interact with their newborn on a daily basis. With low, soothing lights to help babies relax and grow, the Saint John's NICU is a family-oriented environment.
