Welcome to The New Saint John's
Lou Lazatin, CEO and President of Saint John’s Health Center

Hello, I am Lou Lazatin, CEO and President of Saint John’s Health Center, and I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the new Saint John’s website.

The completion of our new facilities and the opening of the Howard Keck Center in 2010 was just the beginning of all the amazing changes taking place at Saint John’s.

Our dedication to providing breakthrough medicine with inspired healing can be seen in our continued push to improve Saint John’s and the care we provide, especially with our dedication to our core service lines: cardiac care, oncology, orthopedics and women’s health.

The Keck Center, together with the Chan Soon-Shiong Center for Health Sciences (CSS), gives patients access to the latest in medical procedures and technology – conveniently located and easily navigable. Designed with input from physicians, nurses, hospital staff and others, the buildings allow for easy flow between departments so patients can get the best care as quickly as possible.  For example, the Emergency Department is located directly below our state-of-the-art Operating Rooms and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, adjacent to the Imaging Center and Diagnostic Center, so patients needing X-rays, ultrasounds, lab work or EKGs are only a few steps away.

Additionally, all of our inpatient rooms, with the exception of those in the McAlister Women’s Health Center and 16-bed Irene Dunne Guild Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, are located in the 4-story CSS building with the goal of making our patients’ stay as comfortable as possible.

Our oncology unit is supported  by the advanced radiation technology available in the Vasek Polak Radiation Oncology Department.  The John Wayne Cancer Centers provide treatments for brain, breast, gastroenterological, gynecological, liver and pancreas, and melanoma cancers.  These centers are supported by internationally acclaimed surgeons of our John Wayne Cancer Institute, as well as by regionally recognized oncology specialists.

Our Surgical Suites, Cath Lab, Imaging and Diagnostic Centers and other fully equipped departments allow us to offer our patients the latest in minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures, bloodless surgeries, ground-breaking treatments and more.  Also to provide patients with the most advanced medical care, we participate in multiple Food and Drug Administration studies and provide remote access to images and reports via the Internet to allow for rapid outpatient testing.

As we enter into a new era of patient care, Saint John’s will continue to be a leader in providing breakthrough technology and inspired healing techniques – Welcome to Saint John’s!.

Kind regards,

Lou Lazatin
President and Chief Executive Officer
