Flawless Dermaplane Glo Reviews

0

The Finishing Touch Flawless Dermaplane Glo has been on the market for a few years already, but it was only that I bought one to try it out. I’m not normally a sucker for any kind of fashion “gadget”, but I caved and bought the Dermaplane after a friend of mine recommended it over going to a spa for a beauty treatment.

Here’s what I thought about the Dermaplane Glo – and why I’m now convinced that everyone needs one as part of their daily beauty kit.

Professional Treatment…Without the Price Tag

Dermaplaning is a professional beauty treatment done by most health spas and dermatologists. It doesn’t take long to do, but for just ten to fifteen minutes a spa can charge a few hundred dollars for the treatment – and ideally, it’s the kind of thing that you want done once every few months as part of your skincare routine.

This gets expensive: Most people I know won’t even shell out $100 on one treatment, let alone more money on several.

The Dermaplane Glo offers a professional quality beauty treatment, and you only have to buy the unit once instead of forking over cash month after month to a beautician to do the same thing.

it’s An Instant Exfoliation Method

Any skincare expert will tell you how important exfoliation is for the health of your skin. There are many ways to achieve the same goal, but the Dermaplane Glo is one of the most effortless ways I’ve found to keep my skin exfoliated and free of impurities. Unlike methods like exfoliating chemicals, the Dermaplane Glo isn’t harsh if you’re careful with it.

Doubles As a Useful Fine Hair Remover

The DermaPlane Glo can also be used as a fine hair remover for any hard-to-reach and hard-to-get-rid of hair. Many razors are too harsh to get to these hairs – and this is part of the main cause of what people call “razor burn” and shaving rash: Instead of shaving the hair like they’re supposed to, most traditional shavers pull the hair out.

The Dermaplane Glo is able to remove hair effortlessly and without the added discomfort of razor burn.

Helps Remove Skin Cells Too

Removing dead skin and dying skin cells from the top layer of your skin is one of the most important things for long-term skin health. Methods like coarse salt or sugar rubs for the skin can prove to be harsh for many sensitive skins (and I’ve definitely never loved rubbing sugar mixed with anything over my face – not even for the benefit of better skin!).

The Dermaplane has the added benefit of removing dead skin cells as it goes along. This makes it great as a hair removal tool that does more than just take off hair.

Easy-Grip Handle

Have you ever had your hands cramp up when you were trying to apply make-up, do your toenails or hold a curling iron? It’s a common problem – and it usually happens when you only have a few minutes to dedicate to your routine and no time on the clock to waste. The Dermaplane Glo has an easy-grip handle that helps you to get into all the hard-to-reach spots without risking any weird hand injuries.

Both for Men and Women

Men and women have different hair: This is why men sometimes prefer to use female razor blades (and the other way around). The great thing about the Dermaplane is that it works perfectly for both men and women – and it works perfectly fine whether you’re trying to get to coarser hairs or fine ones.

Small Enough to Fit in a Carry-Bag

Most people I know have to do most of their daily beautifying on the road: In their cars, at the office, in the restroom of a restaurant before you go out to dinner. The Dermaplane Glo is about the same size as a toothbrush, and it fits into most carry bags or handbags. You can carry it with you wherever you go, and you have a professional beauty treatment in your pocket for a quick rescue if your skin needs it.

They Thought of Including a Light!

One of the most common issues when doing make-up or applying face masks is that I can’t see what the heck I’m doing unless I switch on my phone’s flashlight and point it at the right angle (or the light catches the mirror in just the right way). They thought of this and included a light with the Dermaplane Glo that helps you to see what you’re doing – and more research shows that LED lighting is actually good for the skin’s rejuvenation process.

It’s Quick to Use

With the Dermaplane Glo, you can be done with your skin treatment in under six to eight minutes. Most people spend more time getting the packaging open when they’re using hair removal products. The Dermaplane condenses a few processes (like exfoliation and hair removal) all into one so that you can save time.

Caution for Newbies

If you’re completely new to the Dermaplane, be careful when you’re changing the blades – and remember that even if it has a handy no-cut guard, this doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to cut yourself. It’s still a blade that’s used for cutting very fine hair, and you should always be careful when working with it or changing out the blades.

Online Instruction

Not sure how to use it? Dermaplane’s manufacturers thought of this and they have plenty of useful usage instruction videos on their website (or on YouTube) just so you can be completely sure you’re using it the right way.

Quiet Operation

One thing I hate about electric toothbrushes is the noise they make: Everyone in the house can hear it when you’ve gotten up an hour earlier than everyone else. The Dermaplane Glo is dead quiet when operating – and nobody will even know that you’re using it.

It also helps that the Dermaplane Glo manages to operate in a stable way: There’s no vibration that can cause it to jerk and cause an accidental cut (or pulling out of hair instead of cutting) like with some hair-removal gadgets out there.

Added Extras Included

The first purchase of the Dermaplane comes together with a few different extras. It’s a great touch: If you don’t have any spare batteries around the house, the Dermaplane ships with a battery – and you also get a set of blades included in the set for your first replacement (which usually takes a few weeks).

Product Pros:

Here’s why I’ve learned to love the Dermaplane Glo – and always keep one as part of my beauty kit now.

  • Comes with additional blades and an included battery.
The Dermaplane Glo doesn’t leave you in the dark or force you to go out and buy anything extra. The unit ships with a battery and a set of additional blades for the first round of blade changes, which usually takes a few weeks of use before it’s necessary at all.
  • It’s easy to use for anyone.
The Dermaplane Glo is easy to use even if you’ve never used one before. (And if you really aren’t sure what you’re doing yet, there are instruction videos on YouTube and the website that can help.)
  • It has an included safety guard and light.
Safety first, especially when working with anything that has “electric” and “blade” in the name. The manufacturers have this covered already, and the Dermaplane comes together with a safety guard to reduce accidents and a light so that you can see what you’re doing even in the dark.

Product Cons:

Even one of the best beauty gadgets part of my beauty kit couldn’t be completely perfect, right? Here are some of the cons I noticed when using it.

  • Not suited people with the most sensitive skin.

I’ve recommend the Dermaplane to a lot of my friends since discovering how well it works for me: Of those friends, most of them got back and said that they intended on continuing to use it – but a few friends with very sensitive skin still had issues with a rash. (Eventually, two of them opted for laser-removal instead.)

  • Always keep spare batteries – and don’t leave them in the unit.

Like most things that use batteries, the Dermaplane unit drains battery power pretty fast during regular use. Always keep a spare battery or two together with the unit so that you have spares when they run out. Also, it’s best to take the batteries out of the unit when it goes into storage – batteries left in can leak.

  • Take Care Changing the Blades

The unit’s anti-cutting guard is useful, but it’s only there while the Dermaplane is actually being used. Your fingers are still unprotected while you’re changing one blade out for another one – and the new blades are both very small and pretty sharp. Always take care when you’re changing out the blades for your Dermaplane to make sure that you don’t accidentally cut yourself.
